Dear
Customers and Friends of Roddenberry.Com,
As
you know the RODDENBERRY STORE has been on a hiatus for the
last few months. Besides this being a long-awaited vacation
for myself (allowing a chance to work on some other projects
including games, films, and conventions,) this hiatus has
given time to improve and update The Roddenberry Store.
However, I recently received an informal letter from Viacom
Consumer Products (Paramount), politely requesting that I
remove all prop-related merchandise from the online store,
while we jointly examine the legalities in selling such items.
At this point, it is my intention to comply with their request
with the hopes of an amicable resolution.
Until a mutually beneficial agreement can be reached, I have
made the choice to keep RODDENBERRY ONLINE STORE closed. As
you know, the Roddenberry family has provided merchandise to
collectors, viewers and fans since Star Trek first aired
almost 40 years ago. It is my sincerest hope that Paramount
and the Roddenberry family can work together to resolve this
issue and continue to provide the fans with quality,
fair-priced merchandise.
As Gene Roddenberry’s son, Star Trek has become far more
than a birthright to me, it has given me the opportunity to be
surrounded by people who have been inspired by the message of
an optimistic future. The integrity of Star Trek and those who
follow it are what drive me to let you know that The
Roddenberry family will continue to be there for you as well
as bring new ventures to the forefront. I have approached
Paramount with some exciting ideas that I am confident help
will rejuvenate Star Trek. I look forward to sharing them AND
a “New and Improved Online Store” with you in the near
future.
Until then…
Best
Wishes!
-Eugene

This
is a very sad day. As most of you know, Lincoln Enterprises
was the only original source for costume accessories. Many
companies such as Starland, Intergalactic Trading and New Eye
Studio purchased patterns and rank insignias through them.
With the Roddenberry store closing I would think that things
like the WOK belt buckle will become rarer and rarer to find..
Because
of their closing I am removing the links on my prop page but
will keep all other links in hopes that he will come to an
agreement with Paramount and re-open the store..
Good
luck Eugene
Lincoln
Enterprises(Roddenberry.com) will sorely be missed
