Although I have not even attempted this uniform, I have become
quite fond of it.
It still holds to the Starfleet style...At first I thought...too Next
Generation! especially the
way the division color on the yoke is..but now after watching the second episode
I'm totally fine with it..Here are some pointers that I have learned from
studying
the pictures below :-)
There is a lot of top stitching on this jumpsuit which makes
it much easier to make
than any of the NG/DS9/VOY uniforms...
Like the FC uniform, it must have a hidden belt on the inside
to keep the seams
from bowing out..looks like it would be more comfortable though..
The division deferred back to the original design with
Gold /command, Blue/science, Red/engineering(about time)
and it is top stitched..for those of you that don't sew, the FC uniform
is by far the hardest due to very little top stitching..
The fabric almost looks like the same fabric Dinkies are made
of..not sure
on this at the moment but a trip to the fabric store will tell me..well, my trip
was postponed due to
The ST Communicator and an interview with Bob Blackman..The fabric is indeed
Blue Cotton Twill If you make this uniform..keep in mind that cotton twill
fades over washings
My suggestion is to only wear it for conventions and Halloween,
have it dry cleaned and keep in a garment bag
This just in: reported by Cami on 12/5/2001
Dominic Keating informed us (at a con) that the pockets are sewn shut.
They aren't really there...Nice find Cami, thanks for the info:)
I will post more information once I get more information...LOL..please,
If you
have info, pass it along and I will post it here...
